2. Overview
These Subscription Terms govern your use of The Daily Brief's premium subscription service ("Premium"). Premium provides access to additional features and content beyond the free edition. These terms supplement our Terms of Service.
3. Subscription Plans
Premium will be offered on a monthly billing cycle. The subscription price will be confirmed before launch and displayed on the Site. All prices are quoted in British Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate.
4. Free Trial
A free trial period may be offered to new subscribers. The trial duration will be confirmed before launch. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial expires. You will be notified before any charge is applied.
5. Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. Your card details are collected and stored exclusively by Stripe — they never touch our servers. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
6. Auto-Renewal and Reminders
Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period. The charge will be applied to your payment method on or around the same date each month. You will receive a receipt from Stripe for each payment.
We will send you a renewal reminder by email before each renewal charge is processed. This reminder will confirm the amount to be charged and remind you of your right to cancel.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via a single communication — by email to thedailybriefuk@gmail.com or through the account management page on the Site. Upon cancellation:
- You will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.
- No further charges will be applied after the current period ends.
- Partial refunds for unused portions of the billing period are not provided (except during the cooling-off period — see Section 7).
8. 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
Premium is a digital content service. Under Regulation 37, if you wish to access Premium content during the 14-day cooling-off period, you must give your express consent to the supply of digital content beginning before the end of the cancellation period, and acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once the digital content has been fully supplied. This consent will be obtained at checkout via a clear tick-box before payment.
If you access Premium content during the cooling-off period having given consent, your refund may be reduced proportionately to reflect the service you have received, in accordance with Regulation 36(1).
Refunds under the cooling-off period will be processed within 14 days of us receiving your cancellation notice, using the same payment method you used for the original transaction.
Model Cancellation Form
To cancel your subscription within the cooling-off period, you may use this form (but it is not obligatory):

9. Refund Policy
Outside the 14-day cooling-off period, refunds are generally not available. Exceptions may be made at our discretion in the following circumstances:
- Sustained service outage exceeding 48 continuous hours during your billing period.
- Technical errors resulting in duplicate charges.
To request a refund, please contact thedailybriefuk@gmail.com with your account details and reason for the request. Approved refunds will be processed within 14 days using the original payment method.
10. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price increase will be communicated to you with at least 30 days' written notice before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price applies.
11. Digital Content
11.1 Functionality
Premium provides access to curated news briefings, analysis, and additional editorial content delivered via the Site. Content is accessed through a standard web browser. No special software or hardware is required beyond a modern web browser with JavaScript enabled and an internet connection.
11.2 Interoperability
Premium content is delivered as standard HTML web pages. It is compatible with all major modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) on desktop and mobile devices. No DRM or technical protection measures are applied to Premium content.
11.3 Quality Guarantee
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content supplied for a price must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a particular purpose, and as described. If Premium content does not meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or price reduction. These statutory rights are in addition to, and not affected by, any other provisions of these terms.
12. Suspension and Termination
12.1 Payment Failure
If a payment fails, we will provide a 7-day grace period during which you retain Premium access. If the payment issue is not resolved within the grace period, your subscription will be suspended until payment is received.
12.2 Breach of Terms
We may suspend or terminate your subscription immediately if you breach these Subscription Terms or our Terms of Service. In the case of termination for breach, no refund will be provided.
13. Governing Law
These Subscription Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
