- If you rent privately: the government has opened a consultation on extending Awaab’s Law — legal deadlines forcing landlords to fix severe damp and mould — to England’s 11 million private renters. It would more than double the homes covered, from about 4 million to 9 million. The consultation closes on 18 December.
- If you are waiting for an ADHD or autism assessment: all diagnostic assessments are to become regulated by the Care Quality Commission, NHS and private alike, after an independent review found diagnosis had become “a very narrow pathway to finding support”.
- If you are travelling to Saudi Arabia: the Foreign Office updated its advice last night and now warns against all but essential travel to Riyadh province and several others, after three Saudi nationals were killed at Riyadh’s main airport. Travelling against that advice can invalidate your insurance.
