Tommy Robinson Convicted of Harassing Two Daily Mail Journalists

A Southwark Crown Court jury has found Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, guilty of two counts of harassment causing fear of violence against the Daily Mail journalists Andrew Young and Jacob Dirnhuber. The case followed a 2024 article about him in Cyprus during the post-Southport riots. He was bailed until sentencing on 16 December; the offence carries up to ten years.

The jury reached majority verdicts after deliberating for two days. Robinson had told one reporter, “I’m coming to get you,” and said he had “tagged and bagged” the journalists; one moved out of his home and another needed protection. Frank Ferguson of the Crown Prosecution Service said Robinson had “weaponised social media” against the two men. He denied the charges, saying he had “panicked” when his family’s location was published. Robinson has said Elon Musk was paying his legal bills, so the verdict carries political weight beyond the courtroom.
