Farage and Lib Dem MP Clash Over Alleged Commons Shove
Nigel Farage said he skipped Wednesday’s Budget to avoid a repeat of a “physical altercation” with another MP at May’s State Opening. Caroline Voaden, the Lib Dem MP for South Devon, then said she was that MP, and that the encounter had left her “shocked and bloody angry”. The Lib Dems say Farage “attempted to shove” her; Reform accuses them of “lying”.
Footage first published by the Daily Telegraph shows the two leaving the chamber together, with no visible sign of a major altercation. A Reform source said “the video disproves that clearly”. Voaden says the incident itself is not in the clip. The row follows another one over where Reform sits in the Commons. Farage’s absence on Budget day has drawn as much attention as his explanation for it. The episode is minor but telling: relations between Reform and the Liberal Democrats are now openly hostile.
