Suspended Former Tory Candidate Worked in Badenoch’s Office
Jack Ross, the former Conservative candidate suspended after being filmed discussing the cost of hiring contract killers, worked as a consultant in Kemi Badenoch’s office as recently as 2025. Sources close to the Conservative leader say he was a junior external social media consultant. The party says his membership is suspended pending an investigation.
The office of the leader of the opposition can draw on taxpayer funds to pay staff, which is why the detail matters. A Tory staffer said: “He would have been in the same room as Kemi and she would have been aware of him.” Accounts of his role differ: the BBC was told on Saturday that he did paid social media work for the party until earlier this year and was never an employee. Police in Scotland say they will review the documentary in which he was filmed; no one has been charged. Mr Ross, chief executive of Turning Point UK, has not responded to requests for comment.
