Police Scotland said there were “no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in due course”. Two women were taken to hospital after a tree fell in Aberfeldy. By 17:00 about 53,000 homes in Scotland remained cut off, according to the two Scottish distributors. Ferries took the brunt of the travel disruption: CalMac cancelled 24 of its 30 services, some until Monday. There is little respite. Another deep low is forecast for Monday and Tuesday, and a yellow wind warning has already been issued for Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland and northern England from 03:00 on Tuesday until midnight. Whether it will be named is undecided.
