Ipsos Puts Labour on 32% With Reform Slipping to Third

An Ipsos poll puts Labour on 32%, its highest rating since the 2024 election, with the Conservatives on 24% and Reform UK on 20%. That is the Conservatives’ biggest lead over Reform since the election. A year ago Reform was polling above 30% and Nigel Farage was favourite to become prime minister.

Keiran Pedley, research director at Ipsos, said “The Labour Party under Andy Burnham is resurgent, consolidating voters on the left behind them”, and that on the right “the tectonic plates have been shifting”. He cautioned that “we should be mindful against overreacting to one poll.” Electoral Calculus projects a Labour majority of 134 on these figures. Reform’s slide follows a run of inquiries, including a standards investigation into a £5m donation to Mr Farage and police investigations into Richard Tice and Robert Jenrick. The poll lands three days before a Budget Mr Pedley calls challenging.
