St Petersburg Oil Terminal Struck as Kyiv Says Intelligence Is Back
Drones struck the St Petersburg Oil Terminal and the Ruchyi oil depot overnight, killing at least one person and injuring at least five, the city’s governor said. Separately the dispute reported this morning half resolved: Volodymyr Zelensky said American intelligence sharing is working again — “it was blocked for some period of time. And then it was deblocked by the American side… Now it works.”
Kyiv has not commented on the strikes, so there is no Ukrainian confirmation of them, and Russia’s defence ministry claim to have downed more than a thousand Ukrainian drones overnight is its own unverified assertion. What is attributed on the record comes from Governor Alexander Beglov: fires at both oil sites, twelve apartment buildings and two houses damaged, and Pulkovo Airport temporarily closed. A logistics centre and a data centre belonging to two Russian internet companies were also hit; both confirmed damage and said services continued. On the diplomatic strand, Mr Zelensky still maintains the satellite slowdown was deliberate — “it was a message from the American government to limit the speed. And technically, SpaceX did it” — which remains his own claim with no American or corporate confirmation. Donald Trump wrote that “I am in the process of negotiating Peace” and would not “drive, foolishly, Russia away from the bargaining table”, while claiming Mr Zelensky “doesn’t want to end this war, and probably never did”. Mr Zelensky says Russia has attacked Ukraine’s energy, oil and gas sectors seventy-six times since the ceasefire was declared — Ukraine’s own count. There is still no sign of a summit.
