- If you are travelling to Saudi Arabia: the Foreign Office tells British nationals to avoid King Khalid International Airport until it is secure, and warns that further attacks on airports are “very likely”. It advises against all but essential travel to Riyadh province. Travelling against that advice can invalidate your insurance.
- If you have a student loan: the repayment threshold is set to be frozen for three years, so graduates start repaying sooner and pay more each month. On Plan 2 the Institute for Fiscal Studies calculates you need to earn about £63,000 before a £50,000 balance starts falling. The Budget is on 28 October.
- If you live on a flood plain: a new taskforce meets on Wednesday, with 6.3 million homes and businesses in England at risk. The Environment Agency is asking households to check their risk, sign up for alerts and make a flood plan before winter.
