Putin Relays Tehran’s Views to Trump as Iran’s Oil Revenue Dwindles
The Kremlin says Vladimir Putin used Friday’s call with Donald Trump to pass on Iran’s position on ending the war, having met President Masoud Pezeshkian in Turkmenistan earlier in the week. “In coordination with the Iranian president, Putin conveyed the Iranian side’s views on a possible resolution to the conflict to Trump,” said Dmitry Peskov. Neither the views nor Mr Trump’s response were disclosed.
Mr Trump’s public line remains maximalist: “Either they give us everything, or they don’t exist any longer,” he told a rally in upstate New York. The data firm Kpler says Iran loaded no crude or condensate at all in September, the first full month without loadings since 1979, and that only eight million barrels remain on the water outside the American blockade, against nearly 90 million in mid-July. “Revenues from crude and condensate will drop to zero for the first time ever,” says Kpler’s Homayoun Falakshahi, putting the point at mid-December. Separately, satellite imagery suggests repair work at the Minzadayi compound Israel struck in March; it does not show what, if anything, has resumed inside.
