Kyiv Pounded for Hours: Two Killed, Thirty Hurt, Petrol Stations Ablaze
Russia struck the Ukrainian capital with jet-powered drones from morning into early afternoon — one of the heaviest attacks since the faster, high-flying drones appeared — hitting railway infrastructure, warehouses and two petrol stations. At least two people were killed and more than thirty injured; four more died in an aerial bomb attack on a village in Donetsk. It came hours after the Zelensky-Trump meeting that produced, in the Ukrainian president’s own account, no agreements.
The target list is the argument for Kyiv’s energy-truce offer: “Russia continues to turn civilian and critical infrastructure into targets: pharmaceutical facilities, gas stations, railways, communications infrastructure, and shopping malls,” Mr Zelensky said. The timing is the answer to it — a barrage launched within hours of the White House meeting, against a capital whose defences struggle with jet drones that fly higher and faster than the Shaheds they replaced.
