Ukraine Launches a 400-Drone Raid on the Moscow Region
Ukraine struck an oil depot and logistics hubs across the Moscow region in one of its largest drone raids of the war, with Russian officials claiming more than 400 drones approached the capital. President Zelensky said Kyiv had also hit six Russian vessels in the Black Sea, including sanctioned “shadow fleet” tankers. Russia, meanwhile, pressed one of its heaviest ballistic barrages on Kyiv.
The strikes hit an oil depot and logistics facilities more than 400km from the border; Moscow’s mayor said 85 drones were downed near the capital. The Institute for the Study of War reports Ukraine has struck more than a hundred energy sites in occupied Crimea this month, while Russia’s escalating long-range strikes, exploiting a global shortage of Patriot interceptors, drove record civilian casualties in June.
