Ukraine Launches 400 Drones at Moscow, Hitting an Oil Depot
Ukraine sent more than 400 drones against the Moscow region overnight, striking logistics sites and an oil depot over 400km inside Russia. The mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said most were shot down, including 85 near the capital, but at least ten people were wounded, among them a child and three Chinese citizens. It was one of the largest drone assaults on the capital of the war.
The deep strike reflects Ukraine’s strategy of taking the war to Russian soil, throttling fuel supply and export revenue while Kyiv contends with a shortage of Patriot interceptor munitions. Mr Sobyanin said more than 400 “enemy drones” were launched between 8.30pm and 5am. The oil-depot fire adds to a mounting toll on Russian refining capacity from repeated Ukrainian raids. Analysts note Moscow has been forced to divert scarce air defence to protect the capital. Watch whether Russia retaliates with another mass ballistic barrage on Kyiv.
