As Labour prepares to take power, Reform UK remains under pressure over Nigel Farage’s finances: a tax expert claims the party could face a £3m bill over his undeclared £5m donation, on top of a paused parliamentary standards inquiry and calls for an Electoral Commission investigation. Mr Farage resigned his Clacton seat this month to trigger a by-election, suspending the standards inquiry until any re-election. The scrutiny coincides with Reform slipping in the polls — Survation had it down three points to 24 per cent — handing Mr Burnham and Mrs Badenoch an opening. Mr Farage insists he has “done no wrongdoing” and “followed the rules”.
