- US and Iranian forces traded attacks overnight Friday into Saturday in the worst flare-up of tensions since the fragile ceasefire began in early April. Kuwait says it was targeted by seven Iranian missiles overnight. The Strait of Hormuz remains closed. Brent crude is trading above $96 a barrel on the renewed flare-up; the previous weekly close was $95.80. - The Israeli army said it will continue its offensive in southern Lebanon despite the trilateral declaration of a conditional ceasefire issued in Washington on Wednesday. Israeli forces continue to operate at the Beaufort Castle / Beaufort Ridge / Wadi al-Saluki line beyond the Litani River, the deepest Israeli position inside Lebanon in 26 years.
